Most who know me know that I am a life-long movie nerd, especially horror movies… what most don’t know is that I love documentary films. When it came time for the Pima Air & Space Museum and Titan Missile Museum to chronicle their history in a pair of 30 minute TV specials I was selected for my passion for history, aviation and my longtime fascination with nuclear weapons and the Cold War. The resulting documentaries earned a combined 3 Emmy® nominations and ‘SECRETS UNDER THE DESERT’ (Titan Missile Museum) went on to win a national silver Telly® award (their highest award) as well as local, regional and national silver Addy® awards.
So now I am turning to something that I have lived around my entire life… the border.
‘CROSSING THE LINE’ a feature length documentary intended to give viewers a glimpse into life along the U.S./Mexico border. It will offer viewers around the world an unflinching look at the growing tragedy and brutal violence that surrounds residents of the southwestern borderlands. As a native of Tucson, Arizona my goal for this film is for the audience to witness the haunting beauty and brutality of the desert southwest as seen through the eyes of area residents, local law enforcement and policy makers on both sides of the line. From immigrants searching for a better life to drug cartels, human smugglers and law enforcement fighting for control and the people caught in the middle… Their stories, in their own words.
